Kate 1.0 or higher, KWrite, Konqueror

To install GDLedit for KDE 2.x, simply copy the downloaded XML file to Kate’s syntax files directory:

> tar -xzvf GDLedit.tgz
> cd GDLedit_KDE2x
> cp gdl.xml ~/.kde/share/apps/kate/syntax/
> more README

Alternatively, you can copy the XML file to the global $(PREFIX)/share/apps/kate/syntax/ directory. Note that you might have to be logged in as root in order to do so.

Kate/KWrite/Konqueror automatically switch to highlight mode as soon as you open a .gdl or .vcg file, but you can also switch highlighting off and on manually as follows:

Program Menu Kate Document -> Highlight Mode -> Sources -> GDL KWrite Settings -> Highlight Mode -> GDL Konqueror Settings -> Highlight Mode -> GDL
