aiSee was designed to explore huge graphs containing hundreds, thousands,… sometimes even hundreds of thousands of elements. aiSee not only implements very fast layout algorithms, but also offers many possibilities to speed up the algorithms even further: node groups can be folded, edge classes hidden, iterations limited, and time limits specified.
Unlike many other data formats, Graph Description Language (GDL) provides for very natural textual data representation, and is also easy to learn. Human-readable GDL specifications can be automatically produced from all programming languages, enabling seamless integration of aiSee into existing tool chains.
With aiSee, you’ll not only enjoy award-winning layout readability — you’ll also find a rich set of built-in features at your fingertips. Stepless zooming. Easy navigation. Subgraph nesting. Graph animation. Fish-eye views. Export of graphs to various formats. aiSee even supports multi-line edge labels and allows icon files, hyperlinks, commands, and additional information windows to be associated with nodes.
aiSee is used in many different areas, from genealogy to biotechnology to business management, from software development to hardware design, to name only a few. That’s because with aiSee, users can choose from 15 basic layout algorithms and customize almost every aspect of their drawings — from node shapes to graph orientation to arrow styles to spline bending…
GDL specifications can be easily produced from all programming languages, including Perl, Java, PHP, ASP/.NET and even JavaScript. aiSee can be run in command-line mode on both Unix and Windows servers. It allows hyperlinks and JavaScript functionality to be associated with nodes and edges, and supports exporting graphs to SVG, PNG and HTML (image map) formats. And not only that: it enables user-specified image parts to be exported instead of the entire image. Advantage to you: the size of output images can be easily limited in Web-based applications or a panning or zooming feature implemented.
Thousands of users world-wide have come to rely on the power and versatility of aiSee. Many companies and academic organizations have incorporated aiSee or its layout engine in applications of their own. You will also find dozens of applications offering GDL interfaces freely available on the Web.
aiSee is available free of charge for non-commercial usage. The price for a commercial single user license starts at EUR 395 and drops from there (e.g. discounts for site licenses). The licenses are not limited to a fixed-term. The pricing is always based on the number of installations, not users. Thus, for example, installing aiSee on a Web server with thousands of users is just as affordable as installing it on your personal computer at home.
